Kosovars wave an Albanian flag (L) and the flag of independent Kosovo (back) which was unveiled on Feb 17, 2008 at the parliament after the declaration of independence from Serbia was made in Pristina. Kosovo began its first full day of self-declared independence from Serbia Monday, despite riots in the streets of Belgrade and a last-ditch Russian bid to block the move at the United Nations.
