Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates talks to reporters Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in Redmond, Wash., about the U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson's ruling that Microsoft should be split into two. Gates said Microsoft plans to file its notice of appeal and motion to stay the court's ruling. "This is the beginning of a new chapter in the case," Gates said.
