Chinese tourists tour the fort of Jiayuguan, which makes up part of the Great Wall of China, near its western-most point, at Jiayuguan, in China's northwest Gansu province Tuesday Oct. 11, 2005. The fort, built in 1372, was completely rebuilt in the 1980's to be preserved as a cultural relic, and contrasts with the crumbling sections of the Great Wall which branch out from it. Sometimes called the western starting point of the Great Wall, the fort actually lies a few kilometers from where the wall ends at a cliff above the Taolai river.
