Case Western Reserve University: Turning Point - Turning Point was dedicated in Fall 1996. The first sculpture by renowned architect and native Clevelander Philip Johnson, it leads students into the Mather Quad and is the 20th work acquired by the John and Mildred Putnam sculpture endowment. Turning Point is a contemporary equivalent, a modern gateway that along with the Kelvin Smith Library, symbolizes the University's entrance into the new millennium. The sculpture is a focal point in the new gardens, surrounding the library in Cleveland's University Circle, a 500-acre park, which in addition to CWRU is home to the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
