U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow listens to Ma Kai, unseen, who is the head of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in the NDRC headquarters in Beijing, China Friday Oct. 14, 2005. Before traveling to China earlier in the week, Snow strongly emphasized his desire to see Beijing allow the yuan to trade more freely in international currency markets. But since arriving he has spoken more moderately, instead stressing his belief in China's need to fully develop all of its financial markets and trade, to further support the country's rapid economic development.
