 | Shanghai Bund: Historical Pavilion of Bund (Weather Symbols Station) .It issituated by the entrance of No.2 East Zhong Shan Road, built in 1908 and being of"Today's Style of Arts" (Albert Noble). At that time it was subject to WeatherSymbols Stations of Xu Jia Hui with telephone communication. There were 4 hangingbaloons in different colours at the symbol platform. And weather report wasannounced at 9:00a.m. and 2:00p.m. everyday. The baloons showed about the wind forthe direction and force as well as the change of the weather. By 1933 due to thereconstruction of Bing Jiang Road, the Weather Symbols Station as a whole wasmoved for more than 20 metres to the north-east from its place. click to open  |
